She has worked within the financial services industry for 12 years of which the last 8 years have been spent within Risk and Compliance. Gemma currently works as the Head of Compliance and has led a digital fin tech firm through their FCA authorisation process, gaining them a suite of permissions in payment services, credit broking and credit lending within a 9 month period. She has experience creating a suite of policies and procedures to help shape a firms governance structure and operationalising these to support the first line. Gemma has stood up both a second line Compliance team in her current and previous role and has experience of standing up a First Line Mortgage Assurance team on behalf of a major UK bank. Wider experience includes, SME in managing Regdata submissions, SMCR processes, procedures and SMF applications, Consumer Duty implementation, Training and Competence schemes, Persistent debt implementation and conduct risk monitoring. Gemma has built up a wealth of experience providing regulatory compliance oversight, compliance advice, implementation and led multiple regulatory change programmes, gap analysis reporting, governance reporting, control testing and policy writing.
