I joined the UNESCO Institute of Statistics in Montreal on a Project Appointment to fill the role of Sr. IT assistant which is UNESCO equivalent for a systems administrator. Since my joining the UIS I have had the privilege of completing several projects and being responsible for varied, IT related, mission critical objectives- Migration of UIS servers from on Premise to Azure Cloud- Migrate from on premise home folders to One Drive- Migration of file servere services to SharePoint- Manage on premise and cloud hybrid servers in a windows environment- Support and administer server roles such as AD, DNS, IIS, etc- End user support in a hybrid environment in accordance with, and exceeding UNESCO standards- Server migration from Windows Server 2008/12 to 2019- Plan and execute return to office in a new location post pandemic- Manage software licensing, hardware and other IT related acquisitions and inventory, including IT contracts and vendor relations- Transition from tape backup to Synology Backup for Business and Azure BAckup for the Institute- Primary SME on IT projects- Plan and implement an end user device modernization project for laptops and accessories- Support, maintain and update institute specific applications.
