With a background in Music Education, Gary formed Koala Publications in 1979 with the goal of writing and publishing a superior standard of music instruction book than was available at the time. Building on the critical praise and market success of the first few books, Gary expanded the Koala brand across multiple musical instruments, styles and genres, and took Koala to the US market in 1982, and European markets in 1989. Gary’s perseverance and dedication to writing and producing quality books, and market leading innovations in content delivery such as the inclusion of cassettes, CDs and DVDs in Koala’s books, saw Koala become a global music education success. With a catalogue of hundreds of published titles, Gary rebranded Koala as LearnToPlayMusic.com in as part of an ambitious expansion into New Media and digital content delivery platforms. As a writer for Koala/LearnToPlayMusic.com, Gary has written over 90 different titles, with combined sales of over 20 million copies sold.
