ABOUT GARY TEMPLE

As a CFO I bring the necessary analytical and commercial business knowledge and experience, together with the passion for adding value and making businesses better, especially in Private Equity owned Retail and Leisure businesses. Whether as an Interim or a permanent CFO, a broad set of skills is needed for the executive to add value - quickly and sustainably.After qualifying (ACA) I have gathered more than 20 years experience in permanent corporate line management and interim roles. I have mainly operated as a CFO, leveraging my finance experience. I have also operated in expanded roles as a broader COO, leading a range of functions including HR, IT, Logistics, Property, Sales & Marketing.I combine the day-to-day management of teams together with project-based work, particularly change management, transformation & restructuring, cost savings, efficiencies and profit improvement, and optimisation of online marketing spend.As an interim CFO I have experience in a number of different ownership structures, mostly in Private Equity owned portfolio companies. This gives me deep understanding of the particular requirements of Private Equity owners - this is critical as an interim CFO needing to hit the ground running to provide reporting, information, insight and strategic guidance to the company and the Private Equity owners.My industry experience covers Travel (cruise.co Group), Retail (Tesco, Strauss, The Original Factory Shop), Leisure (Fitness First), Energy (Certas) and FMCG (Procter & Gamble, Polaroid). The multi-site aspect of many of these businesses is an important common thread that I leverage in all roles, whether Interim or permanent, and in Private Equity and other ownership structures.I have a broad multi-cultural and multi-lingual approach, having worked across many countries in Western Europe (UK, Benelux, Germany) and Australia. I am a native English speaker, also bilingual in German.
