I am a highly experienced journalist, producer and digital news-maker. A people manager and motivator, as Deputy International Editor I draw on my extensive experience covering politics and policy, in both news and documentary production, to bring out the very best work from the team. I thrive during breaking news, under deadline pressure, nimbly marshaling resources.Previously I established a one-man bureau in Cairo during Egypt\'s revolution. I have worked independently as a video journalist and correspondent in a dozen countries, reporting on issues ranging from the advent of the Trump Presidency to global refugee displacement and youth homelessness in Australia.I am a passionate editorial leader, devoted to accuracy, engagement and team development. I have reported on assignment by invitation from Pacific Friends of the Global Fund and have served as a Fellow of the Asia Pacific Journalism Centre. Over several years I have sat as a judge in the Walkley Awards for Excellence in Australian Journalism.
