ABOUT GABRIEL SORONDO GUIROLA
I studied Hispanic Studies and Theatre & Dance at Trinity College in Hartford, Connecticut. I previously attended the Mahindra United World College of India after being selected from a national selection process in Venezuela. My research in the field of Hispanic Studies has focused on the impact of oral history in the preservation of immigrant stories either within the US or from Venezuelan migrants. In theatre, my research focuses on the impact of medical clowning in children that have been victims of traumatic events or sexual violence. Other research has included the analysis and interpretation of the theatre of Latin America and the testimonial literature that has arisen in the region since the 1970s.Professionally, I seek to offer educational opportunities to diverse groups of students and offer them an opportunity to explore the subjects of theatre and Spanish literature openly. Offering students spaces for growth within the subject areas and beyond the classroom are at the core of my professional interests. Harvesting a love for their subjects and supporting students likes is at the core of my future interests. Alongside, I seek to offer writing advice alongside experience in creative writing that extends bilingually in the fields of poetry, narratives and drama.
