SKILLS
ABOUT FUMI NAGAHISA
I’m a strategy and go-to-market leader with 20+ years of experience spanning engineering, commercial leadership, and corporate strategy roles across industrial, semiconductor, automotive, and advanced research environments.I usually think about my background in a few phases.Early in my career, I was very field-facing, working directly with customers in engineering, applications, and sales roles. That experience gave me a hands-on understanding of how engineering decisions translate into validation, production, and manufacturing environments—across semiconductor, automotive, and research use cases—and it’s where I developed a strong appreciation for being close to engineering teams and customer workflows.I then moved into marketing and go-to-market leadership, focusing on connecting product strategy, customer feedback, and commercial execution. In these roles, I often acted as a bridge between Japan-based teams and regional organizations, helping align product roadmaps, positioning, and market execution across cultures and functions.🧭The next phase of my career was in corporate strategy and corporate development, where I worked closely with executive leadership at the intersection of long-term strategy and execution. My responsibilities included market and growth strategy development, software- and systems-focused market assessments, M&A target identification, and post-acquisition integration—ensuring strategic intent translated into operational outcomes.More recently, I’ve continued corporate strategy work in an advisory capacity, leveraging the experience I gained at NI across multiple industrial and technology contexts. This work broadened my perspective across different operating models and market environments, while reinforcing the settings where I tend to have the greatest impact.I do my best work in operating environments with continuity and ownership—where strategy is closely connected to engineering, execution, and long-term business outcomes, and where strong partnerships across technical and business teams drive sustained results.
