ABOUT FRIDA SERNAS

I work at the intersection of social impact leadership, urban strategy, and community-based development, with over five years of experience directing programs, leading multidisciplinary teams, and building strategic alliances across the public sector, international cooperation, foundations, and civil society.My background is in architecture and urban development, but my practice has evolved toward institutional leadership and strategic consulting for organizations working on housing, public space, gender equity, and community development. I have directed large-scale social programs, overseen complex operations in urban peripheries, and represented organizations in decision-making and partnership spaces.I have led and supported initiatives focused on progressive housing, recovery of public and sports spaces, safe environments for women and girls, and community infrastructure, collaborating with organizations such as TECHO, Placemaking México, local governments, corporate foundations, and international partners. My work combines territorial analysis, participatory methodologies, and strategic narratives to ensure programs are both grounded and scalable.I approach leadership through an applied feminist and care-centered lens, prioritizing inclusive decision-making, community voice, and team wellbeing, while maintaining a strong focus on impact, accountability, and institutional sustainability.Currently, I work independently as a strategic consultant, supporting organizations and initiatives in impact strategy, institutional positioning, and program design. I am particularly interested in roles and collaborations that involve country-level leadership, organizational growth, and the use of sport, public space, and community engagement as tools for social transformation, especially for girls and young women.
