ABOUT FRANK HOOGENDOORN
Frank Hoogendoorn is a technology executive with many years’ experience in leading the development and commercialization of data centric products and services. As a data focused IT strategist, Frank loves to work at the intersection of technology, data, and business, and is passionate about creating data driven solutions that solve business problems in unique and innovative ways. In 2002, Frank cofounded Cognera Corp, which he helped grow into one of the largest companies of its kind in Canada. Cognera was one of the first to provide a fully hosted meter-to-cash billing service to utilities and energy retailers delivered through a combined SaaS and BPO model. In addition to business development initiatives, Frank was responsible for the digital product strategies at Cognera, and led the design, development and implementation of the company’s award-winning energy billing solution. Cognera was acquired in 2012 by Harris Computer Systems, a wholly-owned division of Constellation Software Inc.(TSX: CSU).Before Cognera, Frank worked at Enron Canada Corp. where he was selected to lead the design and development of the system suite required to support the operations of Enron Direct, Enron’s Canadian retail electricity and natural gas marketing start-up. Since the sale of Cognera, and prior to joining MineSense, Frank worked as an independent IT Management Consultant, where in addition to helping clients craft and implement IT strategies, he led the development of several data focused product and service offerings.
