Cocoon Vehicles started out in my home office as your typical Contract Hire and Leasing broker, I would do approx. 5 vehicles every month but my lack of sales knowledge restricted me from doing more, I accepted a funding offer from Myron who became a Director of the business and head of sales. In August 2008, we sold part of the business to Paul Stone, who worked as a contract hire rep for a major contract hire and leasing company.I joined Cocoon full time after being made redundant as Group Marketing Manager, my main role is accounts and marketing. I wanted to build Cocoon as a brand and grew this with sponsorship, networking and SEO work.I integrated Social Networking with the current website along with a new revised and easier to use internet site which was fully SEO\'d.I split the websites into mini-sites so that I could display all of the car contract hire, car sales and commercial vehicles on their own domains, which in turn increased visitors from natural listings.My other tasks were to look at other revenue streams into the business during the recession, especially during the time when finance companies wouldn\'t accept the healthiest of businesses. I set up Cocoon Group Ltd and Cocoon Vehicle Contracts Ltd to enable us to use existing credit lines to purchase and lease vehicles, to then be able to rent them out on our own paperwork.I also looked at cutting back out outgoings and commissioned a company to install a telephone system that integrated Mobile and VOIP technology which saved on average £70 per month. We are now totally on a VOIP telephone phone system, costing a fraction of the price we were charged by BT.I have also integrated a CRM system in to the day-to-day running of the sales team, this captures leads from the websites and tasks the sales guys with following customers up. It is also used to collect documents for customers in one place.Today my wife owns Cocoon alongside myself, having bought Paul Stone out at retirement in 2018
