ABOUT FIONA NELSON
After just over 5 years as a Senior Account Manager in the film and entertainment industry, I took some time out due to the not insignificant issue of a brain tumour. I reluctantly accepted that PR was no longer a healthy or viable career option after a tussle with neurosurgery and chemo/radiotherapy. If there\'s one thing I can\'t deal with, it\'s doing nothing, so during my (still ongoing) recovery, I volunteered at a wonderful local charity called The Bureau. This led to them employing me, and I am now Volunteer Coordinator, leading volunteer recruitment and events. It feels amazing to have a direct hand in helping vulnerable and isolated people.
