ABOUT FERAS AHMED

I’ve built my career at the intersection of technology, privacy and policy, driven by the belief that the future of innovation depends on trust and engagement — and I’ve spent my career delivering both.Currently, I serve as Assistant General Counsel, Privacy at Dotdash Meredith, where I lead the company’s privacy function, helping protect the trust of over 200 million monthly readers. My work spans advising on data strategy, policy, product development, compliance, contract negotiations, AI and innovation across some of the most iconic brands in publishing. With a background in computer science and product management, I bring a uniquely practical perspective to privacy — combining legal expertise with a deep understanding of how products are built. I also launched Dotdash Meredith’s “Trust By Design” program, embedding privacy principles directly into our product, data, and engineering practices.Throughout my career, I’ve worked with policymakers and regulators to help shape the evolving technology landscape — including contributions to NTIA initiatives on facial recognition, FDA guidance on cybersecurity and spatial computing, and legislative efforts impacting digital publishing and advertising. Before joining Dotdash Meredith, I served as the privacy lead for several innovative startups across AR/VR, healthcare, crypto, facial recognition, and location data sectors.
