Food and Drug Regulatory Attorney:Carey has represented of a broad variety of clients engaged in the manufacture, marketing, and distribution of products in virtually all areas regulated by the FDA. Most recently Carey has been part of the in-house legal team at Takeda Pharmaceuticals, providing day-to-day counseling on FA and other regulatory and industry compliance issues as the principal brand counsel for a portfolio of therapeutic products in the rare metabolic, hematology, and other disease areas.Carey provides pragmatic advice and innovative thinking regarding FDA’s regulations, agency reasoning, and the practical realities influencing FDA policy development. Carey\'s has developed a practice involving regulatory counseling; enforcement advice; policy development; and advice concerning legislative activity affecting drug, device, and food and supplement regulatory issues. Carey\'s experience includes engaging with clients and the FDA regarding: approval pathways; product investigations; agency oversight and enforcement; advertising and promotional issues; participation in the regulatory process; preparing Citizen Petitions; commenting on agency rulemakings and guidances; and making formal and informal agency contacts to gain additional insight into FDA’s thinking on topics of client interest.
