Led a multi-quarter, cross-functional project with a team of six to design and build the backend infrastructure for computing and persisting a unified, organization-specific view of interactions (emails and calendar events), that were deduplicated and unified from various credentials and calendar syncs. • Improved application performance and scalability by avoiding repeated computation of organization-specific views.• Delivered a high-performance Interactions API built on top of this infrastructure, enabling fast and reliable access to unified interaction data.This initiative laid the foundation for faster, more scalable interaction queries and enhanced the user experience across the platform.Designed and implemented a robust API versioning system to support our contract-first development approach. Key features included:• Integrate with our contract-first development model and fully support request/response validation enforced by our `openapi-first` tooling.• Enable incremental, breaking changes across versions while preserving backward compatibility guarantees.• Minimize code duplication across versions within controllers, views, and partials• Accept version identifiers via a request header, formatted as an ISO 8601 date string in the development of Affinity’s first native Slack integration, replacing a Tray.io-based solution to improve reliability, configurability, and user experience. The native implementation resolved issues with message formatting, reduced operational costs, improved maintainability, and delivered a more seamless experience that enhanced customer retention and workflow efficiency.One of the first contributors to External API v2, helping build a modern, scalable, and developer-friendly API with support for usage tracking, rate limiting, and consistent resource modeling to improve maintainability and integration.
