ABOUT FABRICE BOULBEN

I’m a computational design enthusiast fueled by curiosity and a genuine fascination with how algorithms, geometry, and intelligent tools can reshape creative work. Rhino, Grasshopper, and AI have become part of my daily toolkit, helping me experiment with parametric thinking, automate repetitive tasks, and stretch the boundaries of form making and problem solving. This hands-on exploration is where I feel most at home, tinkering, improving, and slowly inching my way toward mastery, one slightly chaotic script at a time.My path into computational design has been a steady evolution. I started in graphic design, drifted into web development, and gradually began threading computational methods through my creative practice. Training in this field has taken years, and I’m well aware that true expertise will take many more, which I accept with patience, enthusiasm, and the occasional existential crisis triggered by a stubborn node.I currently work with Site Web Developers Ltd, a company undergoing a major reinvention as it shifts toward architecture, sustainability, and parametric design. This transformation, combined with the relentless acceleration of design technologies, has made one truth impossible to ignore: adaptability is mandatory. To keep progressing, we have to stay curious, stay quick, and keep sharpening our skills, ideally before the software updates again and hides all the menus.Although originally from France, I’ve lived on four continents, a multicultural journey that broadened my perspective and shaped how I understand design. It taught me to thrive in diverse environments and appreciate the many ways people interpret space, form, and technology.Design has always been a balancing act for me. Graphic design offered creative expression, while web development fused aesthetics with logic. Computational design feels like the natural next chapter, where creativity collaborates with precision and imagination partners with algorithms. It’s a slow but meaningful climb, and every step brings its own reward.Here’s to growth, persistence, and embracing a future where design and technology evolve side by side, hopefully without breaking our scripts in the process.
