ABOUT FABIEN JOURDAN
Since September 1st 2005, I am a permanent researcher in the INRA (French National Institute for Agricultural Research) Toulouse. In 2007 I spent one year as a visiting researcher at the Bioinformatics Research Centre of the University of Glasgow. I graduated my PhD on December 7th 2004 in Université Montpellier 2. I was studying Information Visualisation and its applications to socilogical and biological data. My PhD supervisors were professors Guy Melançon and Jacques Marti. Research interests Food toxicology: some food contaminants like Bipshenol A may have impact on Human Health. Our aim is to study these potential metabolic effects according to different doses and during critical Human development phases (e.g. pregnancy). Bioinformatics: developing methods to study genome-scale metabolic networks. These approaches are mainly based on graph models. The aim is to use experimental data like metabolomics ones in order to retrieve parts of the organism metabolism affected by genetic or environmental perturbations. Keywords: metabolic networks, metabolomics, information visualization
