ABOUT EVAN SCHERR
I spent 17 years in the classroom before moving into research analytics for the Department of Defense, with a pivotal stop at NASA. It was there, working alongside scientists who demanded absolute rigor, that I truly honed my mastery of R to transform complex, high-dimensional data into insights that people can actually use.While I spend my days building sophisticated regression models, hypothesis tests, and automated data pipelines, the real work is ensuring the meaning doesn’t get lost in the math. My background in education means I don’t just see numbers, I see the students, teachers, and leaders they represent.At NASA and now within DoDEA, I’ve helped leadership forecast outcomes and make confident, data-informed decisions by bridging the gap between advanced computational research and human impact. I am constantly looking for smarter ways to use R to solve real problems, whether that is through Social Network Analysis or navigating complex assessment transitions, to ensure every model I build drives a measurable, human result.
