WORK HISTORY
Fulbright-nehru Research Scholar @The Fulbright Program
Punjab, IN
My project in India focuses on protecting and promoting an endangered embroidery style called Phulki, which hails from the Punjab region. I worked with both the artisans and independent NGOs to better understand this technique\'s history and cultural importance, and to promote it as a global textile good while protecting the livelihoods and rights of the women who create it. I have designed and led various workshops and programs, both locally and abroad to promote awareness of this endangered art form.
