ABOUT ERIC Y.
My role at Amazon is to protect personal data and fulfill the privacy rights of people and businesses enshrined in privacy regulations around the world. To me, this is more than compliance and it is about being customer obsessed. Before this role, I have over 25 years of international technology and business experiences across North America, Europe and Asia in building eCommerce and Ads products for sellers and advertisers, as well as enterprise automation and self service banking applications. I am grateful about the opportunities I got, where I contributed to a) delivery of online banking and financial applications for 4 of the 5 main Canadian banks, b) digitisation of the B2B and ERP platform for the world’s largest building materials company, c) migration of Amazon consumer experiences from web to mobile, d) unification of Amazon product platform for retail and marketplaces, d) launch of native shopping ads and experiences in Instagram and Facebook, e) GDPR/CCPA/DMA/SOX compliance for Amazon. I am here to learn different perspectives from everyone, share thoughts with anyone who might benefit, and stay in touch with people I crossed paths with.
