ABOUT ERICA REDLINE
I am a materials scientist with over 14 years of experience in the design, formulation, processing, and testing of polymers and polymer composites. I also have experience in polymer aging, degradation, and structure-property relationships. My work at Sandia National Laboratories has focused on developing novel materials, understanding how polymeric materials behave under complex conditions - including radiation, thermal, and geothermal environments, and creating written materials specifications. I have additional knowledge across material science disciplines, including metals, ceramics, and microelectronics as well as analyzing complex systems to improve performance. My work has resulted in several patents and publications as well as several awards, including the Society of Women Engineers Ignite Award for mentoring, an R&D 100 Award for innovation in materials science. In 2021 I was selected as one of the 125th Anniversary Fellows of Penn State’s College of Earth and Mineral Sciences.
