Australia’s critical infrastructure environment is changing, becoming increasingly interconnected and interdependent. Critical infrastructure entities are increasingly reliant on a network of suppliers and managed service providers, which are not subject to security regulation. Supply chain vulnerabilities and hazards pose a cross-sector risk that can rapidly cascade across all critical infrastructure. The Supply Chain Expert Advisory Group (SCEAG) will facilitate the consideration of issues in relation to secure and resilient critical infrastructure supply chains. Working with industry and supply chain experts, the SCEAG’s primary purpose is to enhance the shared understanding of nationally significant critical infrastructure supply chains and interdependencies, build a common understanding of supply chain threats within and across different sectors and work together to develop best practice strategies for assessing and mitigating supply chain risks. The SCEAG will support the wider Trusted Information Sharing Network, consistent with the Critical Infrastructure Resilience Strategy 2023 by:*Identifying the most critical supply chain dependencies both within and across sectors.*Identifying critical infrastructure supply chain hazards and vulnerabilities that could disrupt critical infrastructure assets and sectors.*Identifying best practice strategies for identifying and managing supply chain risks and vulnerabilities.*Providing advice on the above issues back into the Trusted Information Sharing Network (TISN) sector groups.
