WORK HISTORY
Senior Integrity Engineer @Penspen
Newcastle upon Tyne, GB
Yearly Condition Assessments; led the client engagement from enquiry to technical and commercial proposal, leading a team of engineers to deliver work on time, within budget and to the required quality. Ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements and industry best practice.Uprating study; involving a full data review and risk assessment for 1940s pipeline with limited data. Engineering judgement was used to establish a conservative lower bound value as the pipeline has multiple known (and unknown) replacement sections and the basics such as, material properties are unknown. Full interrogation and skilled data interpretation of ILI data completed.Quantitative Risk Assessment (QRA) for series of city centre gas pipelines; conducting risk assessments using TNO’s RiskCurves and Effects software and in-house software. Using satellite imagery to estimate population to calculate individual and societal risks (IR and SR). Where the pipeline risk was found to be \'not acceptable a Cost Benefit Analysis (CBA) was conducted to determine if possible mitigation measures were feasible and if the pipeline is currently As Low As Reasonably Practicable (ALARP) or if a mitigation is needed for the pipeline to be ALARP.Third Party interference study and risk assessment for 4 cross country oil pipelines. Detailed land use investigations were conducted to enable the most realistic risk results.Corrosion and third party interference study conducted on a high risk gas pipeline in an area well known for terrorism. The pipeline has previously suffered terrorism damage; both individual and societal risks were calculated as well as a CBA regarding mitigations to enable the pipeline to remain ALARP.PD8010 Study; UK onshore condensate pipeline has been assessed against PD8010-1 to highlight areas requiring improvement and to pinpoint areas requiring QRA.
