As the Communications and Engagement Manager at the Durham Police and Crime Commissioner\'s Office, I develop and implement communication strategies to enhance public awareness and engagement. Key to my role is fostering transparent and effective communication between the Commissioner’s office, Durham Constabulary and the communities of County Durham and Darlington.I am responsible for developing and executing strategic communication plans that align with the goals of the Police and Crime Commissioner’s Office. This includes managing media relations and developing our social media strategy. Organising and leading community engagement events to engage with diverse community groups and stakeholders is one of my primary duties. I support a team of Community Safety Coordinators who deliver planned engagements in hot-spot areas, to help equip communities to be aware of and respond to crime.
