ABOUT EMILY GENZER
I am a somewhat recent New Yorker. I grew up in the suburbs of Philadelphia and started my career there after graduating from Elon University magna cum laude with a BA in Communication Design. After relocating to Manhattan, I graduated from Christine Valmy Esthetics School with honors in December 2020. I currently work as a licensed esthetician and shop educator at Heyday.As a creative-turned-esthetician, my esthetics approach incorporates experimentation and science. My past experiences in content creation and leadership have manifested into my role as a shop educator. While leading with empathy and charisma, I am constantly pushing my skin therapist to be thinking therapists and experts in their treatment rooms. The love for skincare runs deep in this industry and allows us to connect with diverse people, cultures, beliefs, and, quite frankly, skin.In the pre-covid episodes of my career, I worked with companies such as Maximalist Studios, Anthropologie, and Velocity Mobile Ltd assisting in styling, content creation, photography, graphic design, and various other creative services. During my time at J.Crew, my social nature and creativity allowed me to outsell the team by working one-on-one with specific clients. I served as the Spoon University Elon Chapter photography director for two years, managing a team of photographers and videographers. I have extensive experience with the Adobe Creative Suite, specifically Photoshop, Lightroom, InDesign, and Illustrator.
