Just a girl heading up the PR team for smaller-ship, experience-led brand, Fred. Olsen Cruise Lines - having made the leap over to the \'dark side\' from journalism to PR in 2018. I was lucky enough to have known I wanted to be a journalist from the age of 14 after Kesgrave High School ran a newspaper workshop. From that day, I never looked back. My ambition and drive to do well along with my passion for writing saw me achieve a full-time trainee reporter role at the Newbury Weekly News before I had even graduated from the university, following a work experience placement in the summer of 2011. By the age of 23, I had passed my NQJ and had become a senior reporter, gaining a distinction for my portfolio. By the age of 25, and following a relocation to my hometown in Ipswich, Suffolk, to work for Archant, I had worked my way up to content editor and earned my spot on its busy daily regional newsdesk for the East Anglian Daily Times and Ipswich Star. In January 2017 I became their Visual Editor.In June 2018 I joined the fantastic team here at Fred. Olsen Cruise Lines. It was a difficult decision to make the transition from journalism to PR, but I was ready for a new challenge and the opportunity to gain new skills.
