ABOUT ELLA THOMPSON

At the intersection of psychology and design, I’m passionate about understanding people in order to craft intuitive solutions to complex problems. After completing my psychology degree at the University of Bath, I joined Ocado Technology\'s UX graduate scheme. This program offered me the chance to gain hands-on experience across multiple areas of the business: E-commerce, delivery logistics and warehouse fulfilment. I enjoyed gaining experience in both B2B and B2C product domains, advocating for various different kinds of user groups. Now, as a mid-level UX researcher, I specialize in systems used by engineers to maintain warehouse automation (including robots!). I support with user research throughout the product development process- Foundational research to identify the most important problems to work on next within our applications - Discovery research to delve deeper into a specific problem we know needs solving - Validation research to assess whether our proposed solution to a problem is worth pursuing - Follow-up research to check-in about whether a new solution is working as planned. When I\'m not tied up in the world of robots and tech, you can find me tied up in piles of yarn - crocheting various clothing items and soft toys.
