I lead communications strategy for this nonprofit, which connects health officials from the largest U.S. cities to share strategies and advocate for policies that protect the 61 million people they serve.My work focuses on advocacy communications—crafting messaging and visuals that persuade policymakers to invest in big city health departments. These departments drive innovation not just in infectious disease response but also in preventing gun violence, overdose, and chronic illness.I design and execute our communications efforts, including digital and print campaigns, media outreach, website and social media strategy, email engagement, and advocacy materials for Hill days. Since I joined, website traffic has grown by 85%, our email list has nearly doubled, and YouTube watch time has increased by 280%.I also built a first-of-its-kind community for public health communicators, bringing together PIOs from 35 cities to share insights, strengthen their work, and find support in a demanding field.
