ABOUT EHSAN SAMANI
Electrical engineer with more than seven years of industrial and academic experience in electricity markets and power systems. I work on quantitative commercial analytics for PV, BESS, and natural gas projects, enabling smarter, data-driven decisions for project development and commercial agreements. For BTA and PPA engagements, I work closely with counterparties, including utilities and data centers, to identify the optimal, highest-value configuration for their needs and to provide detailed analytical insights on dispatch and economics, especially when multiple technologies such as wind, PV, and BESS operate together. I review PPA commercial terms and compensation structures to support negotiations and help secure favorable terms that maximize project IRR. I also have experience analyzing energy prices, nodal basis, curtailment, energy arbitrage, and additional revenue streams such as capacity/RA and RECs to evaluate revenue for pipeline, greenfield, and M&A projects. With expertise in data analysis, mathematical modeling, optimization, and machine learning, I develop and use both in-house and industry-standard tools for power market analysis and asset valuation.
