ABOUT ED ROBINSON

I’m the Head of Defence, UK, Europe & India for AECOM with over 30 years’ experience in the sector. I joined AECOM in 2025, following 9 years growing the Turner & Townsend Defence business and a 23 year career with the British Army. I\'m also a member of AECOM\'s Global Government & Defense leadership team.I\'ve successfully translated my military and Whitehall experience to great effect into a commercial environment. My military career included roles developing and advising on strategy and policy in Whitehall, command of an engineer regiment in conflict (up to 1200 people) and the development and procurement of complex capability platforms (£0.5 billion).With Turner & Townsend in UK, I was at the heart of major delivery partnership (Paragon, Equinox and Unity) bids and mobilisations into the Ministry of Defence and was the architect for their growth into defence. I was also a Global Key Account Lead and engaged frequently with their Australian, Middle East and North American businesses.I’m passionate about defence and global affairs and am finely attuned to how professional services can apply experience from other sectors to defence to drive value and performance on mega scale complex programmes. I\'ve significant Board level experience in region, and globally, and sit on several working groups at pre-eminent strategic think tanks.I champion veterans, actively promoting the hiring of those in transition from the military to the business world.
