Responsible for the development and strategic outcomes of all city marketing and communications operations and programs. Senior advisor for municipal stakeholder communications to identify opportunities, anticipate challenges, assess impacts and build strategic outcomes. Develops and implements branding and marketing strategies to maintain a consistent image with media, department leadership, elected officials and community leaders. Analyzes research and relevant data to identify best practices, align policies and executive strategic action plans. Oversees the City’s intergovernmental relations, including, forming relationships with elected officials, advising city leadership of regional/state/federal issues, managing legislative consultants, and participating in and monitoring legislative process. Responsible for all Community Relations and Strategic Engagement programming. Develop and implement creative marketing campaigns and communications strategies to increase stakeholder engagement on digital platforms. Lead all crisis communications preparedness and response during complex issues, and advise city leadership on brand reputation actions, legislative affairs and impactful engagement. Participate in city council work sessions, meetings and public hearings. Oversee the Denton TV production team and newsroom activities. Manage the multi-million dollar marketing and communications fiscal year budget.
