Created the position originally in the 7 states of the Northeast Region. Moved two years ago to institute the role in the Western Region for the 115 VCA hospitals in California and Hawaii.In addition to actively hiring associates, the last 5 years have also been devoted to developing and teaching recruiting and interviewing skills to hospitals looking to hire while simultaneously training candidates and students seeking employment.

A well-connected and respected veterinarian with an exceptional grasp of the profession thanks to experience in nearly every aspect of small-animal practice, The last 13 years have been spent in unquestionably the most challenging part of the profession today: recruiting and retaining top talent. This singular knowledge of the veterinary recruiting world has led to a steady stream of speaking engagements around the world - informational lectures, educational seminars, and training workshops on all things veterinary recruiting. Corporate accomplishments at five different companies range from multi-unit hospital operations, to marketing, to the most personally and professionally impactful - the establishment of VCA’s recruiting department. Building strong university relationships and creating cultural ties between the business and academic worlds are additional achievements of note.Extensive public speaking engagements have been primarily focused on the topic of recruiting, building an “all-star” staff, improving odds when hiring, employee engagement, and developing a strong hospital brand while concurrently improving hospital culture. Led hundreds of communication, resume, and interviewing workshops, both national and internationally. Clinical practice successes include nearly all practice types and clinical settings and range from the private to corporate to the non-profit sector. Practice experiences are comprehensive: the founding, operation, and management of multiple hospital types such as emergency, single and multi-doctor practices, specialty hospitals, and an adoption center; relief work; house-call practitioner; and shelter veterinarian.
