ABOUT WIL BURNS

I am Co-Executive Director of the Institute for Responsible Carbon Removal at American University, and a Professor in the School of International Service. I lead interdisciplinary research and outreach on the legal, ethical, and social implications of carbon removal technologies to combat climate change. I have over 45 years of experience in teaching and researching various aspects of environmental law and policy, with a focus on climate change, biodiversity, and energy.My current mission is to advance the understanding and governance of carbon removal as a key component of addressing the climate crisis, and to foster dialogue and collaboration among diverse stakeholders.
