In this role, I help to translate clinical and public health guidance into clear, accessible messages for broad audiences, supporting informed decision-making and advancing public understanding of public and oral health as critical components of overall health. This work requires strategic communication, media engagement, and public speaking, as well as the ability to convey complex health information with accuracy, empathy, and credibility. ABOUT BRITTANY SEYMOUR
Hi! I\'m Dr. Brittany Seymour, an award-winning senior academic and health systems leader who builds and leads purpose-driven institutional systems at the intersection of people, strategy, and mission. My career began in private practice ownership and clinical dentistry, where responsibility and trust are foundational—an experience that developed a precision mindset grounded in direct responsibility for another person’s well-being, and the ability to read and respond to subtle microemotional cues in real time. Never underestimate a dentist\'s unique skillset at the intersection of technical excellence and human insight; this foundation continues to shape how I lead today.Since transitioning from private practice to public health and academia, my work has evolved into organizational and executive leadership, where I have launched new operations and promotion systems, led leadership development efforts, and built data-informed planning tools to support institutional decision-making. I am frequently asked to step into moments of transition, where collaboration, clarity, alignment, and disciplined execution are essential. A defining dimension of my leadership—and my belief in the concept of ‘learning organizations’—is my experience in global and cross-cultural work. Leading across countries and institutional contexts has strengthened my ability to navigate complexity, build trust across differences, and design adaptable systems that respect local context while advancing shared goals.Throughout my professional journey, I have developed a leadership approach grounded in positivity and authenticity, with strengths in organizational renewal and systems thinking. My approach aligns strategy, culture, and structure so institutions can adapt without losing their core purpose. I believe sustainable performance and individual well-being are mutually reinforcing outcomes of well-designed, values-driven systems.(All views I express here are my own.)
