ABOUT MARTIN CROSS
Martin is a Technical Director in JBA Consulting based in Shipley and Leeds. He is a highly experienced geotechnical and geo-environmental practitioner and Project Director, as well as being a Specialist in Land Condition (SiLC). He has broad experience of working across all geotechnical and geo-environmental service streams during his 40 years of applied practice. Martin brings expertise associated with industrial, commercial and residential land development, rail and highways, nuclear power, energy from waste, tunnels and shafts, reservoirs and earth structures, flood defence, climate resilience engineering, waste-water, engineering geomorphology, geohazards, landfill engineering, contaminated land redevelopment and expert witness. Martin is responsible for the peer review and authorisation of Geotechnical reports.Martin is a Chartered Engineer, Scientist, Environmentalist, Geologist and European Geologist. Martin is a Fellow of the Institution of Civil Engineers and is registered as a Geotechnical Adviser on the ICE UK Register of Ground Engineering Professionals. Martin is a Supervising Civil Engineer for ICE chartership training and Assessor for Geological Society chartership applicants.Martin has published academic papers in the fields of geotechnical engineering, engineering geology, engineering geomorphology and contaminated land. Martin was awarded the ICE George Stephenson medal in 2019 for work relating to the circular economy and the Crossrail/Wallasea Island restoration project.
