I am a visionary leader with a proven track record of successful leadership in Psychiatry. Recognized as a highly creative professional, experienced strategic leader, and innovative change maker, I have a sincere passion for child and adolescent psychiatry and an intimate knowledge of the mental health needs and services of the children, youth, families, and women.Throughout my career, I have demonstrated an ability to implement innovative programs that enhance patient outcomes while continuously seeking to deliver improvements in health care quality and risk management. I have a particular expertise in “Psychological PPE,” Compassion Fatigue, Burnout and Vicarious my current role as Associate Head Psychiatry, Child, Youth and Women’s Reproductive Mental Health at BC Children’s Hospital, I provide senior leadership and promote the philosophy and goals of the organization while supporting the strategic direction and vision for the Child, Youth and Women’s Reproductive Mental Health programs.As Medical Director of the Adolescent Psychiatry Unit at BCCH (P2), Clinical Director of Compass, and more recently as Interim Chief of Psychiatry, I have worked with senior leadership to develop the vision for these programs and to implement strategic change. I am highly skilled in leading and managing talented teams, excel at building collaborative relationships with cross-functional stakeholders.In my capacity as Clinical Director of the Compass Team at BCCH, I played a key role in the development of the program, both in creating our model of service delivery and in the oversight of the clinical, outreach, education, and research components of the Executive Leadership: Associate Head Psychiatry, Child, Youth and Women’s Reproductive Mental Health at BCCH. Accountable for medical/clinical leadership, strategy, risk management, quality, and performance measurement. Child & Adolescent Psychiatry Program Director: Program Director for a distributed site program with training locations in Vancouver, Surrey, Victoria, and Prince George. Currently providing change leadership to facilitate the transition to a Competence by Design model. TEND Academy: Cofounder of the Psychological PPE Program, an online program that provides evidence-based strategies and tools to protect emotional and mental wellbeing during exposure to high-stress, high-pressure situations. Award-Winner: Recipient of the Physician Change Maker Award from the Canadian Medical Association.
