I am frequently invited to speak at conference keynotes and workshops about the importance of involving families in health care and how to make this happen in health care environments. I co-developed the Illness Beliefs Model an advanced practice, systemic model designed for health care professionals who wish to learn how to address illness suffering in individuals and families. My current focus is on knowledge translation of family nursing and family-focused practice theory to increase the capacity of health care professionals and institutions to care for families.
