Work on a team dedicated to identifying communication, education, and engagement needs and developing informational marketing materials that inform appropriate publics of the agency\'s policies, programs, initiatives and services. Plan, execute, and evaluate the effectiveness of information and communication programs in furthering the agency goals.Responsibilities Include:•Write public health and food safety initiative/educational materials for distribution to governmental, medical, and lay audiences (e.g, health professionals, state/county health officials, hospitals, universities, and the general public).•Assist with developing or executing strategic communications initiatives for the agency, e.g, identifying target audiences, developing key messaging, developing public engagement and marking plans.•Assist with tracking public engagement and outreach program metrics and developed reports for leadership.•Write and edite communication materials related to updates and changes to public health policy and government regulations.•Work to educate and inform the public on food and drug recalls and it immediate and long-term potential effects on the public.•Manage case load of patients effected by food and drug recalls to refer to appropriate local/state resources.•Accept/review cases of adverse food and drug events and referred/escalated to appropriate agency departments.•Manage case load of patients who have has serious illness or death from a drug or food regulated by the FDA.•Collaborate with researchers and scientists at FDA, CDC, and NIH on current health advisories, recalls, and other public health events that public needs to be aware of.•Lead a team to establish trainings on customer service, public engagement, and case management.•Provide accurate analytic information and data on agency social media engagement and public education engagement campaigns to upper management and senior leadership.
