ABOUT ALEXIS L. NORRIS

I am a bioinformatician experienced in complex genomic variants, regulatory-focused study design & reporting, and animal biotechnology applications (i.e, genome edited animals for food use or as source of human biologic). As the first bioinformatics reviewer at FDA Center for Veterinary Medicine, I pioneered receiving large genomics datasets, configured computing platforms, designed analysis pipelines, and established guidance for these submissions. A prominent member of the FDA\'s wonderfully vibrant data science and omics communities, I’m active in multiple scientific computing groups and I co-chair the FDA Omics Working Group.I am deeply passionate about leveraging high-quality bioinformatics to deliver safer and more effective products to patients and consumers.
