Work consists of leading the Soils Design and Materials Section for the Los Angeles District. Duties include oversight/mentoring/leadership of 22 engineers and support staff, preparation of yearly budgets, support both the office and field services, oversight of IDIQ AE firm contracts, and technical oversight of on-going projects.\\\\nProjects include flood control programs (dams and levees) for both new structures and periodic assessment and inspection of existing infrastructure; support to the Veterans Administration, Customs and Border Protection, US Forest Service, US Military Branches, and Bureau of Indian Affairs.\\\\nPrepared justifications for USACE Headquarters approval and started from scratch a state of the art quality assurance and engineering properties soils/materials laboratory for support of District projects during design and construction.\\\\n\\\\n
