ABOUT DOUG GOWANS

I\'m a technology strategist focused on helping organizations navigate the complexities of the digital world — now increasingly driven by generative and agentic AI. I’ve had the privilege of working in a wide range of tech roles with some of the world’s leading companies, collaborating with exceptional teams in over 25 countries across Europe, the Middle East, the US, and Japan. I recently joined the Customer Health Assurance team. A team dedicated to solving the challenge of getting the most out of AI in our big, complex customers. Prior to that I worked in a presales team where we led a 5 fold increase in the Higher Education business. I was also the sector lead for AI and regularly advised universities on how to modernise service delivery, increase agility, and unlock value through AI-powered platforms and automation. My experience spans sales, presales, partner ecosystems, project delivery, solution and enterprise architecture, and customer success. I’ve worked in startups and global enterprises, advising hundreds of customers — especially in finance, higher education, and the UK public sector — on technology strategy and transformation.🤝 Recently, I’ve taken on more mentoring opportunities. I love helping smart people develop strategic thinking and confidence in their work. Outside of work, I’ve travelled extensively — including a lap of the globe and a journey the length of Africa — and spent time exploring Borneo with my young family. These experiences fuel my curiosity and appreciation for global perspectives in tech and leadership.
