The Branch researches, identifies and promotes cost effective ways to make consumer products more energy efficient, safe, and healthy. Mr. Anderson manages the ENERGY STAR Residential Window, Door, and Skylight Program, the ENERGY STAR Most Efficient Program for residential windows, and the “Seal and Insulate with ENERGY STAR” Program. The “Seal and Insulate with ENERGY STAR” Program strives to educate and promote building science based air leakage reduction and insulation installation in existing residential applications.Specific tasks include: • Management of ENERGY STAR performance specification development and revision • Management of research and comparative analysis of product performance • Manufacturer and retailer support, outreach, and communication • Program brand management, review, and oversight. • Oversight of product performance claim analysis and review • Coordination with Certification Bodies for product certification and verification testing • Planning, management and review of contract task orders • Coordination with US Dept. of Energy (DOE) on research and program issues • Coordination with relevant international programs • Communication of program goals, plans, and current efforts to industry and the general public.
