My primary responsibilities include patent prosecution (application drafting and liaising with the relevant patent offices), contentious work (oppositions at the EPO) and strategic advice provision. I work with clients across Scotland, the UK and internationally, including academic institutions, multi-national companies, SMEs and non-UK IP firms (on behalf of their own clients).Since qualifying as a UK (Chartered) and European Patent Attorney, I have developed a practice covering pharmaceuticals, industrial chemistry and agrochemicals. Within the firm, I participate in our UK offices’ business development efforts in the US and regularly travel to Stateside chemical clusters.Across our three Scottish offices, we have one of the country’s largest chemistry and biotechnology patent practices, with 10 patent practitioners specialising in these fields. Across the UK and internationally, we have a unique breadth and depth of expertise in this area.
