Serve as a subject matter expert on legal demands to ensure Amazon’s Kuiper satellite division responds lawfully, securely, and efficiently to government and law enforcement requests worldwide. Provide operational leadership for intake, evaluation, and fulfillment of subpoenas, court orders, search warrants, preservation requests, and emergency disclosures in alignment with global legal frameworks.Key Responsibilities:• Law Enforcement Response: Evaluate, process, and respond to legal demands while ensuring compliance with applicable laws and internal policies.• Cross-Functional Collaboration: Partner with Legal, Public Policy, Security, and Engineering teams to ensure responses balance legal obligations, user privacy, and operational realities.• Policy & Process Development: Draft, refine, and enforce internal policies and playbooks for handling subpoenas, warrants, emergency requests, and cross-border demands.• Custodian of Records: Act as custodian for court proceedings, providing sworn testimony regarding records authentication and compliance processes when required.• Training & Outreach: Lead training sessions for internal teams and external stakeholders (e.g, law enforcement agencies) on lawful access protocols, technical capabilities, and limitations.• Operational Leadership: Mentor and guide team members on best practices for data preservation, escalation handling, and risk assessment.• Risk Management: Identify and mitigate compliance risks, especially around novel satellite technology and emerging regulatory frameworks.• Efficiency & Innovation: Implement process improvements and technical tools to reduce backlog, increase speed of response, and maintain accuracy under high-demand conditions.
