As a dedicated teacher in Chicago Public Schools, I have three years of experience teaching 5th and 6th-grade English Language Arts, focusing on fostering confident readers and writers through engaging, culturally responsive instruction. My teaching emphasizes student voice, critical thinking, and real-world connections to enhance literacy and communication skills.Previously, I taught gifted 5th–7th grade students in science and social studies, concentrating on inquiry-based learning, interdisciplinary projects, and enrichment strategies that challenge and support high-achieving learners.In the upcoming school year, I’m excited to transition into teaching 5th and 6th-grade Social Studies, bringing the same enthusiasm for inquiry-driven learning and equity-focused curriculum. I aim to help students explore history, culture, and current events with curiosity and empathy, encouraging them to think critically about the world and their role in it.Beyond the classroom, I proudly sponsor our school’s annual talent show, creating opportunities for students to shine, celebrate their creativity, and build community through performance and collaboration.Passionate about creating inclusive and meaningful classroom experiences, I’m committed to helping every learner grow academically and personally through supportive, rigorous, and reflective teaching.
