Sources new and/or existing items for purchasing, regional accounts, category management and sales teams. • Obtains supplier information, including product line, inventories, processing, quality and technical information, prices, lead time, MOQ’s, terms, guarantees and insurance. • Participates in risk assessment and control by working closely with suppliers to assure all ingredients are from natural sources using non-GMO and/or Organic ingredients, where applicable• Assists procurement and quality in the development and execution of purchasing/quality agreements with suppliers. • Gathers technical information and specification documents for comparisons for accurate decision-making by the R&D and SQ divisions. • Gathers samples of all new and existing products and goods from all new and existing suppliers for R&D and Quality Control to analyze for qualification and approval. • Discusses defective or unacceptable goods or services with Quality Control personnel, users, vendors, and others to determine the source of trouble and takes corrective action. Works with Production, R&D, and Quality departments on analysis and solutions. • Works with the procurement team to determine the best method of procurement, such as direct purchase or bid. • Confers with vendors to obtain product or service information such as price, availability, exchange rate and delivery schedule. • Assists in the rollout of new product development and product improvements by securing supply and identifying any risks in the supply process. Works with cross-functional teams to ensure project timeline is achieved.• Continually seeks new and existing products to purchase at cost savings for all divisions. Continually seeks better quality products that follow’s corporate goals and values• Meets with suppliers to enhance current relationships or to start new relationships.• Assists with onboarding new suppliers by gathering all documentation needed. • Continuous cost reduction project
