ABOUT DEREK SCOTT

A senior manager with considerable experience and, whilst my expertise lies primarily in the commercial and marketing arena, I have been very involved with operations, legal, finance and supply chain functions of business. I have worked in SME’s and large blue-chip companies, so I can thrive in small simple teams and large sophisticated matrix business structures. As a company director, at AMG (£25m turnover and 80 staff), I was both hands on in day-to-day business operations, as is required in a small agile enterprise, as well as playing an active role in setting our long-term strategic direction with my fellow board members. I am fortunate to have had a career that combined both commercial and marketing roles, which means I am able to balance both long term strategic brand building with more immediate commercial pressures. And, having worked for both global and local businesses, I have extensive experience in working across a wide range of markets and cultures with a track record of success in building brands and market opportunities.
