ABOUT DEREK MASON
We all live various different lives. Like stepping stones through life. Only when we look back on our lives do we realize how nicely the pieces fit together. During one of my lives, I was a cook and lived a pseudo Anthony Bourdain life because I really enjoyed cooking and food and life. There is an art and skill to the presentation and arrangement. During this time I also wrote a lot of poetry. Living in the shadow of Tom Waits while I made fresh pasta. Almost 20 different flavors. Pasta is an ingredient within the dish to be enjoyed, not an item to put sauce on. Around this time, I self published several books of poetry and organized events too. Have you ever attended a poetry reading in a cemetery on Halloween? That was fun.did that for a few years. I enjoy photography. Taking pictures. I had fun exploring this craft in the darkroom while being in the USAF, I would disappeared into another world being in the darkroom. After the service, I got my some of my pictures shown in a few galleries in Cleveland, OH.Most of my early work experiences are in the hospitality industry. It is still a passion I have. I have a strong interest in the hotel/resort design. Specialties: Hospitality Design; ADA Review & Commercial Interiors
