I set up a new purchasing department when I joined JMS. I am responsible for strategic sourcing raw materials from US-based and imported mills, including but not limited to stainless steel plates, sheets, tubes, pipes, and supporting parts for all JMS product lines.Created a Power BI purchasing dashboard tied in with the ERP systems through SQL.Established purchasing department workflow and procedures such as competitive bid guidelines, service purchase order, manual material take off, new supplier process, milestone payment order, etc. Collaborating with other JMS departments and providing training to implement these new procedures.Created and compiled tracker across the operations team to help improve pre-fab backlog, fab release, sales order input, material nesting, and manual take-off processes. This tracker improved company visibility for project prioritization and managing risk related to internal/external parties.Directly involved with custom brokers for all JMS importing materials, including but not limited to import compliance paperwork review, HTSUS code assignment, section 232, and tariffs monitoring.
