ABOUT DEIZA KAVANAGH

I am a diligent and dedicated individual, extremely enthusiastic about pursuing a career in the legal profession. I have recently completed the LPC (with additional LLM). To reveal my commitment, I have undertaken paid employment since the age of 14 to not only gain work experience and thus develop my transferable and soft skills but to also further my educational aspirations to pursue a career in the legal profession. Throughout my paid employment and voluntary roles, I have continually demonstrated an appetite to learn, a strong client service ethic and enthusiasm. Additionally, I have excellent organisational and IT skills that would allow me to efficiently progress in the fast-paced, pressured legal environment.Being the first generation of my family to attend university, I have first-hand experience of the obstacles faced by individuals entering into the professional job market. This is why I am keen to use my legal knowledge and education by participating in pro bono projects with the aim of helping members of the public who may not otherwise have been able to access these vital legal services. I strive to challenge myself in both my professional and personal life. My proudest accomplishment was completion of the Trailwalker in 2019; a 100km trek across the South Downs in under 30 hours. This was a mentally and physically gruelling experience where I had to demonstrate grit, determination and good team camaraderie.
