ABOUT LAUREN BASHAM

As a Corporate Solicitor, I work closely with businesses, shareholders and investors both across UK and internationally. I help them at every stage of their Company\'s growth, whether that\'s start-ups seeking their first investment or shareholders seeking an exit and everything in between. My specialisms include early-stage investment and funding, M&A and corporate re-organisations. I recently spent 5 months on HCR\'s international secondment programme working at Flynn O\'Driscoll in their Dublin office (July-December). This opportunity allowed me to build my international connections and enhanced my legal skill set. HCR Law is one of the most active deal makers in UK - and we have been consistently so, for 3 years as we respond to client demand for M&A. From company formations, due diligence, acquisitions and exit, we help our clients with the full range of Corporate transactions and value realisation. We\'re responsive, experience and well connected. Alongside my role as a Corporate Solicitor, I\'m an executive committee member of the national Junior Lawyers Division. As a committee member, I along with my fellow committee members, have an independent voice to advocate and support junior lawyers nationally. We also support regional junior lawyer division committees. I also hold an executive committee position on the national Junior Solicitors Network Advisory Committee. In my role, we advise the Law Society of England and Wales on how to support junior lawyers. We work closely on Law Society policies, ambitions and proposals. I also work closely with Law Society Council Members. I\'m a huge advocate of supporting junior lawyers preparing for qualification and beyond and am able to make a positive and impactful change in the future legal landscape for junior lawyers in these prestigious committee positions. Finally, I share my legal journey through my legal Instagram (@laurendoeslaw). Through this I have been able to support a huge number of junior lawyers as they begin their career. I also co-host on the Girls Take on Law podcast with Gabrielle Wall. Our podcast has been listened to in over 100 countries and over times, focusing on our legal journeys to qualification.
